I was commissioned by a Twitch streamer to create new channel art for him. He had purchased a logo from another artist and felt that he needed updated overlays and banner art to go along with it.

After a few hours of researching the streamer and the games he plays most often I was able to create a custom artwork package for him that not only gave viewers an idea of what they might see in his stream, but also fit his personality. The package I put together for him inlcuded custom subscription badges, channel headers, section headers, and screen overlays.

After the first few proofs were provided to him he asked if I would be willing to create some additional artwork and animations for him once I had finished the current project. If you would like to learn more about that project, click here.

I came up with the idea for Bad Gamer Chick in 2018. Its purpose is to create a gaming site geared more towards women. The original plan was to hand code the site, but as in most cases plans change. Because the site was used as part of a group project, it needed to go live in a shorter amount of time than I had to code it. The current version of the site utilizes a Wordpress theme and several plugins.

With a target audience of females aged 18-34 the ultimate goal is to create quality content from a female perspective, and tear down the stereotypes that plague female gamers. The look and feel of the site changed drastically over the design faze before I finally settled on a more paintball punk look and early 90's sound.

The content itself varies from videos, to reviews, to personal interest stories. While the content isn't always family friendly, I do try to create content that shows anyone can be a gamer. This is an ongoing passion project that I hope to devote more of my spare time to post graduation.

When I started this project I found it extremely difficult. I still wasn't sure which area of New Media I wanted to focus on, and my voice is so different for each area. This is one of the reasons that the first version of my site leans more towards a hobby site than anything.

Once I had feedback from my family and peers, I decided that maybe going with a "Betty Boop" esthetic probably wasn't the most effective way to go. I decided that a complete overhaul was in order.

The final hand coded project uses a combination of HTML, CSS, PHP and JQuery. It even features an easter egg or two.

This project was one I completed for my husband. He wanted some fun new artwork for his social media channels.

Building on an inside joke about how he always plays dwarves, I created a new logo and banner image to be used across his social media channels.

The whole project took me about 8 hours to complete, and he was thrilled with the results.

This project is a work in progress. It is something I started for my 2 year old. She loves playing games just as much as she loves playing on an iPad. This inspired me to create a hidden object game that would be fun and educational.

The game is web based, so it can be played directly from my site. The biggest challenge is creating a responsive design. The final product is more of a mini game that I plan to expand with new levels and difficulties over the next few months.
